Ofemili 1 of Awba-Ofemili

Awba-Ofemili is about 30kilometers (km) from Awka, the capital city of Anambra State. Like most towns in Awka-North, Awba-Ofemili’s climate and soil conditions are favorable to farming, especially for rice mass production.

Awba-Ofemili is bordered in the north by Ibite-Olo (Enugu State), on the East by Ugbene (by land) and Achalla (by water), on the West by Umuolum (Ayamelum L.G.A), and on the south by Aguleri through the Ezu-Omabala waterways (Anambra East L.G.A).

Since after the civil war in 1970s, Awba-Ofemili has had some three successive Traditional Rulers/ His Royal Highnesses (HRH)/Igwes; namely late, Igwe Samuel Nzegwu Obidigwe (Ezu 1 of Awba-Ofemili), late Igwe Samson Chike Akabueze (Okemili 1 of Awba-Ofemili) and the current being HRH Igwe Ernest Ezekwesili Maduagwuna (Ofemili 1 of Awba-Ofemili)

Awba-Ofemili has historical affinity with Nachi in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State as pertains to her origin.

This is my hometown, we have all it takes to produce rice but lack the modern amenities for food production... Currently we have no power supply for over 2years now.... We also lack good network coverage.... I wish the government will get all these fixed for better development
