This type of muscle pull often strikes the most heavily used muscle groups, frequently affecting the lower back, as in Bayo’s case or the powerful muscles of the legs, like the hamstrings and quadriceps. It was a classic muscle pull, or strain, the kind of injury many of us brush off with a quick application of a heat pack.
