NCC keen on Nigeria’s participation in 4IR – ITREALMS

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is keen at ensuring that the nation fully participates in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) as drivers and innovators, reports 
ITREALMS.
The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NCC, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, ITREALMS gathered, gave this insight in a keynote he delivered virtually to the 3rd Discourse Series of the Advocaat Law Practice held on Thursday.


According to him, NCC is keenly aware of the critical need to harness the contributions of all critical stakeholders across all industry platforms and professional groups to ensure that Nigerians fully participate in the Fourth Industrial Revolution as drivers and innovators.

He also said that in essence, Nigeria could only maximize the potentials of the 4th Industrial Revolution if the nation “Articulates effective and forward-looking policy instruments to guide our emergence into the future digital landscape.”

In addition, he said Nigeria must ensure the ubiquitous presence, the seamless operation and the cost-effective availability of communications infrastructure which will power the digital aspirations of all sectors of the Nigerian economy and ensure that national competitiveness is guaranteed.

Danbatta pointed out that deployment of effective regulatory instruments and harnessing the efforts of all critical stakeholders so that “we can derive the utmost benefits from the 4th industrial revolution and not be reduced to digital laggards, spectators, or, merely a consumptive class.”

He further solicited the support of all stakeholders in achieving quest.
