The Nigerian President, General Muhammadu Buhari, retired, has finally sacked the service chiefs led by General
Abayomi Olonisakin since 2015, with immediate effect, reports ITREALMS.
Disclosing this to ITREALMS, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Mr. Femi Adesina, made this known in a tweet on Tuesday afternoon.

Adesina wrote, “PMB appoints new Service Chiefs. Major-General Leo Irabor, CDS, Maj Gen I Attahiru, Army, Rear Adm AZ Gambo, Navy, AVM IO Alao, Air Force.

“He congratulates outgoing service chiefs on efforts to bring enduring peace to the country.”

Those affected are Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.

ITREALMS gathered that the new service chiefs are: Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General I. Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao, Chief of Air Staff.

Buhari urged the new service chiefs to “be loyal and dedicated in the discharge of their responsibilities.”

ITREALMS recalls that the sacked service chiefs have been with Buhari since 2015 and there have been several calls to remove them before now.

  1. There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.
