2019 Presidential election: INEC declares Buhari winner - ITREALMS

ITREALMS:
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari, as the winner of the 2019 presidential elections in Nigeria, reports ITREALMS.

With this announcement, President Buhari of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has been re-elected for a second term in office for another four year.

According to INEC chairman, Prof. Mohmood Yakubu, President Buhari got a total of 15,191,847 votes to emerge.

INEC chairman made the declaration on Wednesday, February 27, following the collation of ballots by the commission in Abuja.

He also disclosed that President Buhari defeated his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who garnered 11,262,978.

Prof. Yakubu put the voter turn-out at 35.6 percent, while the revised 82.3 million registered voters, he said the total valid votes were 27.3 million.
