NIRA unveils new COO, marches ahead of 150,000 domains – ITREALMS

The new Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mrs. Eyitayo Iyortim has been unveiled with the latest administrative changes in the secretariat of Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA), just as it marches beyond 150,000 domains, reports ITREALMS.

Disclosing this recently, NIRA President, Rev’d Sunday Folayan informed ITREALMS that Mrs. Eyitayo Iyortim has assume the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of NIRA with effect from 1st December 2018.

She comes from a rich Information Technology background with a keen eye on Project Management and Operational Excellence.

“We are delighted to attract such a talent as Eyitayo to NIRA, and look forward to her contributing positively as a member of the NIRA Family,” he said.

Folayan noted that in the last four years, Mrs. Edith Udeagu, the elsewhile COO, has brought a lot of stability to the NIRA Secretariat, as the Head of the Secretariat.

He also used the opportunity to revealed that with effect from 1st December 2018, Edith has assumed the role of the Executive Secretary to the Board of NIRA, and the Head of the Secretariat.

“The Board of NIRA is delighted with these advances, as it further solidifies NIRA’s footprint and positions the organization for growth and the needed resilience to make the registry a force to reckon with,” he said.

ITREALMS further gathered that currently with over 66 Registrars and NIRA steady march to 150,000 domains in the registry, needs to ensure operational excellence.

“… And a robust operation is very important at this point in time, serving its stakeholders and helping to deepen the utilization of the Nigerian identity - .ng,” Folayan emphasized.
