Issa Hayatou disgraced out of CAF

The erstwhile President of Confederation of African Football (CAF), Mr. Issa Hayatou has been disgraced out of office after 29 years in top position in CAF, reports ITRealms.

Hayatou was defeated by the President of Madagascar Football Association, Mr. Ahmed Ahmad with a total vote of 34 out of the 54 votes cast during the election which Thursday, took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The Cameroonian Hayatou was first elected into CAF leadership in 1988, when FIFA world slot for the continent was one and has since increased to five.

With the latest victory, Ahmad is now the seventh CAF president, while defeated Issa Hayatou would lose his executive position at the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
