5G-ready Nokia AirScale to showcase @MWC16

The Nokia Mobile Networks has concluded plans to showcase its Fifth Generation (5G)-ready network tagged Nokia AirScale at the forthcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) kicking off Monday through Friday, February 26, 2016, reports ITRealms.

Nokia also said this would redefine radio access so as to close the gap between the Information Technology and telecommunications world.

The President, Mobile Networks, Nokia, Mr. Samih Elhage, said Nokia's next generation radio access solution runs multiple radio technologies simultaneously in one base station.

As said by him, 5G-ready with virtually unlimited scalability to support massive Internet of Things (IoT) demand and 5G speeds.

In addition, it offers open cloud-based architecture fosters innovation, which enables faster software cycles for continuous improvement in performance

"The biggest thing you'll ever see supports every architecture topology - distributed, centralized and cloud,” he said.

He pointed out that Nokia's next generation AirScale Radio Access will radically alter the way networks are built. 

“Operators will be able to use Nokia AirScale Radio Access to profitably satisfy future demands including the Internet of Things, virtual reality, augmented reality, factories of the future and other advanced scenarios such as video that demand extreme performance. The first demonstration of Nokia AirScale Radio Access live, with 5G-ready air interface is being shown at Mobile World Congress 2016,” he said.
