Akpabio mourns Dotun Oladipo, hails courageous journalist, digital media pioneer - ITREALMS

The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON, has expressed profound sadness over the passing of veteran journalist and publisher of The Eagle Online, Mr. Dotun Oladipo, reports ITREALMS.

Describing his sudden death as a painful loss to both the Nigerian media landscape and the nation at large, Senator Akpabio acknowledged Oladipo’s trailblazing contributions to journalism, public discourse, and the institutional growth of digital publishing in Nigeria.

The Senate President extended his deepest condolences to the family, friends, and professional colleagues of the deceased, particularly members of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP), where Oladipo served with distinction as Emeritus President.

In a tribute to the late publisher, Senator Akpabio stated:

Senator Akpabio prayed that God Almighty grant the deceased eternal rest and give his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. He also called on media practitioners across Nigeria to honor Oladipo’s memory by upholding his legacy of integrity, courage, and unwavering dedication to the public good.

“May God grant his soul eternal rest and guide him into His peaceful presence,” Akpabio said.
