The Save Nigeria Group USA, in partnership with the Convened US-Nigeria Civil Society Coalition, has issued an urgent invite for two landmark events in Washington, D.C. reports ITREALMS.
These gatherings are designed to highlight the worsening humanitarian crisis and the erosion of religious freedom within Nigeria, issues that have reached a critical level of global concern.
ITREALMS gathered that as Nigeria grapples with intensified targeted violence, mass displacement, and the persecution of faith communities, these events aim to amplify the voices of affected populations and galvanize bipartisan policy action to ensure the protection of vulnerable citizens.The first event, the SAVE NIGERIA Rally, the organisers informed, will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM (ET) in Macpherson Square, Washington, D.C.
This large-scale, peaceful assembly will unite the Nigerian diaspora, prominent faith leaders, and human rights advocates to serve as a strategic public demand for international recognition and decisive intervention to halt ongoing violence and provide necessary support to impacted communities.
The second event, ITREALMS also gathered, would be the US-Nigeria Faith Heroes Award Gala, scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/U.S. Capitol.
According to the organisers, media access and the red carpet event will commence at 5:00 PM (ET), followed by the official ceremony at 6:00 PM (ET).
This prestigious gala is dedicated to honoring the political, journalistic, and faith-based leaders who have served on the frontlines of the battle for religious liberty.
The organizers further announced that President Donald Trump has been invited as the Special Guest of Honor to receive the “2026 Faith Defender Award.”
The ceremony is expected to draw a high-level attendance, featuring senior U.S. Congressional leadership, distinguished Nigerian dignitaries, and prominent international human rights advocates.
