This development marks a pivotal shift in the Commission's operational structure, designed to foster a globally competitive, modern, and efficient workforce.

This approval is a cornerstone of the reform agenda championed by the NIMC Director General/CEO, Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote.

By providing a clear and robust framework for staff development, the new scheme aligns with her strategic five-point agenda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s "Renewed Hope Agenda," which prioritizes human capital development and institutional excellence.

ITREALMS gathered that key features of the approved Scheme of Service include the comprehensive definitions for staff cadres, promotion trajectories, and organizational hierarchy; Job functions and qualification requirements that strictly adhere to Public Service Rules and international best practices; and the introduction of specialized Enrolment, Card, and Commercial Cadres to reflect the Commission’s modern mandates.

During the formal presentation ceremony, Mr. Imirhe Gabriel Nwagolo, Deputy Director of the Scheme of Service at the OHCSF, lauded the NIMC for its exceptional commitment to excellence.

He highlighted that the Commission has distinguished itself by becoming one of the few federal agencies to successfully secure approval for a dedicated, comprehensive Scheme of Service.

Representing the DG/CEO at the event, Mrs. Rhoda Jackden, Head of Human Capital Management, described the approval as a "laudable and significant milestone."

She reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to the swift and effective implementation of the new framework, signaling a new era of career progression and operational stability for all NIMC personnel.
