In a major boost to the "Solution" security agenda, the Igbo-Ukwu community took center stage at the Anambra State Government House on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, presenting two brand-new OMAA security vans to the state government, reports ITREALMS.
The presentation of the high-performance Hilux-style vehicles is intended to enhance rapid response and surveillance operations across the state.
Also, the move aligns with Governor Soludo’s ongoing efforts to ensure a liveable and prosperous homeland by equipping security agencies with the necessary tools to combat crime.
Speaking on the significance of the event, Nze Basil Osuokwu (O’Bassey), a prominent community leader and former Vice President of the Association of Anambra State Development Unions (AASDU) in Lagos, described the day as a historic one for his people.
"The Igbo-Ukwu community literally 'stole the show' at the Capital today," Osuokwu disclosed to ITREALMS.
He characterized the philanthropic gesture as a "welcome development," noting that it underscores the community's commitment to partnering with the state government for the safety of all citizens.
The atmosphere at the Government House and "The Light House" was celebratory as community representatives handed over the keys to the Governor.
Observers noted that this intervention by the Igbo-Ukwu people sets a high standard for community-led support in governance, particularly in the critical sector of security.
Governor Soludo, while receiving the vans, commended the Igboukwu community for their patriotism and for understanding that security is a collective responsibility.
