Onigbinde, former Super Eagles coach, passes on - ITREALMS

Nigeria has lost one of its most respected football tacticians, High Chief Festus Adegboye Onigbinde, a former coach of the Super Eagles and a distinguished Modakeke High Chief, reports ITREALMS.
Family sources confirmed that the renowned football administrator and coach passed on peacefully a few minutes ago, marking the end of a remarkable life dedicated to sports, community service, and national development.

A press statement available to 
ITREALMS and issued on behalf of the family by Mrs. Bolade Adesuyi, the late Onigbinde was described as a devoted father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose contributions to Nigerian football remain indelible.

“With great gratitude to God for a life well spent, we announce the passing of this great man, a Modakeke High Chief and the first indigenous Nigerian Super Eagles football coach,” the statement read.

The family thanked God for what they described as a fulfilled life and celebrated his immense contributions to Nigeria and the global football community.

They also prayed that his soul would rest in the bosom of the Lord.

High Chief Onigbinde was widely respected for his role in the development of football in Nigeria and for mentoring generations of players and coaches. His legacy in Nigerian football remains significant.

The family noted that final funeral arrangements will be announced later.
