The Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) is set to host a landmark event that signals a strong industry shift towards rigorous self-regulation and governance, reports ITREALMS.
The First Telecoms Industry Compliance Management Forum (CMF), scheduled for Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in Lagos, is positioned as a pivotal platform to dissect the crucial intersection of compliance, governance, and quality of service (QoS) in Nigeria’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Endorsed by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the Forum, themed: “Securing the Future: Navigating Compliance and Governance for Improved Quality of Service and Experience in Nigeria’s Digital Landscape,” will feature heavyweight government and regulatory leaders, emphasizing the collaborative approach required for sustainable sector growth.
Focus on Fiscal Policy and Multiple Taxation
The highlight of the event is the direct alignment with the current administration’s economic direction. ALTON Chairman, Engr. Gbenga Adebayo, in a statement obtained by ITREALMS, strongly endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing fiscal and tax reforms.
Adebayo highlighted the reforms as a "bold and welcome intervention" addressing the sector's decades-long struggle with multiple taxation. "For many years, the industry faced over 50 different taxes and levies across Federal, State, and Local Government levels, posing severe operational burdens and affecting the quality of services delivered to consumers," Adebayo noted.
According to ALTON, the new policy direction simplifies compliance, promotes equity, and is expected to create a more predictable operating environment, ultimately translating into better quality of service and customer experience for Nigerians. Adebayo stressed that the Forum is essential for the industry to "gain clarity and deepen our understanding" as the fiscal reforms take full effect in 2026.

Welcome Address: Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, will speak on “Compliance, Governance, and Quality of Experience: Building Trust and Service Excellence in Nigeria’s Digital Economy.”
