A public statement to members available to ITREALMS, AFRINIC also announced new elections to take place by September 30, 2025, following the annulment of the June 2025 elections.
AFRINIC is taking proactive steps to ensure the integrity and transparency of the upcoming electoral, process.
ITREALMS gathered that AFRINIC will now conduct voting entirely online to enhance accessibility and fairness.
The organization has equally ruled out the acceptance of proxies and Powers of Attorney in the new elections to prevent manipulation.
A crucial part of the election process, ITREALMS equally gathered is the formation of a Nominations Committee (NomCom) which is still open until Thursday July 17.
AFRINIC's call for nominations for this committee, with each region nominating one representative is to maintain neutrality and prevent regional bias.
The NomCom will oversee the election process, ensure a diverse pool of candidates, and finalize the list of eligible candidates.
The deadline for nominations to the NomCom is July 17, 2025. Interested parties can send their nominations to nomcomselection@afrinic.net.
