Odey, Ndukwe to grace NITTA-07

ALL is now set for the sixth edition of the Nigerian Information Technology and Telecom Awards (NITTA 2007) to play host to the Information and Communications Minister, Mr. John Odey, as the special guest at the event holding, this Friday, at the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) Centre, Onikan-Lagos, organised by IT & Telecom Digest magazine.

Also expected to grace the event is the Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, while the chairman of the occasion would be Nigeria’s immediate past High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr. Christopher Kolade.

According to the organisers, the event known as an industry’s best, would witness an expanded version, thereby extending its recognition and honour to other sectors of the economy that have embraced the life-changing world of ICT and this include the banking/finance sector and manufacturers of various products that impact on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry.

The event slated for 5.00pm, would be chaired by Dr. Kolade, to be supported by some past ministers of Communications, including Chief Olawale Ige and Chief Cornelius Adebayo, to name a few.

Equally expected at the event is the Managing Director of Zenith Bank, Mr. Jim Ovia, Akwa Ibom state Governor Obong Godswill Akpabio, even as the nation’s leading ICT firms like Globacom, MTN Nigeria, Celtel Nigeria, Starcomms, Direct-On-PC, MultiLink-Telkom, Nitel-Mtel, 21st Century Technologies, Huawei, D-Link International, Zinox Computers, Technology Distribution, Omatek Computers, Computer Warehouse Group, Bluechip, HP Nigeria, Cisco Nigeria, SkyVision, Samsung, Nokia, JMG Generators, Teledom, Briscoe Technologies, Sysnet, Intel, Microsoft, ReltelWireless, AVIS, DiscoveryTel, have confirmed participation.

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission would be represented by its chief executive, Dr. Ransom Owan, while the Nigerian Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) would be represented by its Director-General Prof. Cleopas Angaye, amongst others.

Champion Infotel recalls that leading global firm, Sony Ericsson, has reaffirmed is partnership with NITTA to make the awards a success.

Noteworthy is that Sony Ericsson in past two years been consistent as the lead sponsor for of the annual event.
