Fashola praises Omatek Computers on ICT centre

Lagos State governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, has praised one of the leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Omatek Computers Limited, for powering the Radlag.com Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Centre located at Ijede-Ikorodu suburb of the state.

The commendation came at the commissioning of the ICT Centre with full deployment of Omatek brands of computers through a special arrangement under the company’s e-Xpress computer acquisition initiatives.

Fashola who later commissioned the centre, expressed gratitude to Omatek for partnering with Eko FM and also for bringing ICT to the rural area like Ijede in Ikorodu and enjoined other ICT companies, especially with offices in Lagos State to emulate Omatek and see to the extension of ICT values, mostly through computer diffusion as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Also speaking, Managing Director, Omatek Computers, Mrs. Florence Seriki, said that her greatest delight was to see more communities benefiting from the company’s easy computer acquisition programme.

e-Xpress, she said, allows individual and corporate bodies to buy computers and pay for it by instalments over a period of 12 to 24 months.

She explained that the project, a partnership between Eko FM, Omatek Computers Limited and First Bank, is a digital institute for the use of indigenes of the area.

She insisted that organizations should take a cue from Eko FM in rendering social corporate responsibility to their environment by tapping into the Omatek e-Xpress thereby ensuring that their areas benefit from the initiative, even as she described the Ijede ICT centre as a welcome development.

“What has happened in Ikorodu is good and will go a long way to make information available at the finger tips of the people of the area that would inevitably transform the entire community. It is interesting to note that many more states are embracing our e-Xpress Initiative,” she asserted.

Champion Infotel recalled that recently Omatek entered a N1 billion pact with the First Bank Nigeria (FBN) Plc targeted at encouraging easy computer acquisition by Nigerians under the e-Xpress initiative.

In addition, Omatek and Afribank Plc, is financing computer acquisition to the tune of N1.5 billion, each in about seven states across the federation encompassing Lagos, Ogun, Cross Rivers, Abia among others.

The bank is also in strategic computer acquisition financing partnership with Omatek worth N500 million, each for four universities under the computer firm’s e-Xpress initiative.

Some of the dignitaries at the commissioning were General Manager, Radio Lagos\Eko F.M. Mrs. Tinu Aina-Badejo, Alajede of Ijede accompanied by his chiefs among others.
