Nigerian Moussy for licensing

Moussy, an Information Technology (IT) invention of a Nigerian student from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Osogbo, Osun State, Dele Giwa, would soon be licensed to interested manufacturers.

Moussy, is a brand name for Giwa’s mouse, which useful as a support device for a computer and better defined as a small device that a computer user pushes across a desk surface (mouse pad) in order to point to a place on a display screen and to select one or more actions to take from that position.

According to the management of a United States-based Invention Technologies Incorporated, specializing in assisting independent inventors in overcoming the traditional headaches and hassles associated with bringing a new product, Moussy is a breakthrough that would aid in bridging the digital gap in the application of mouse.

This original idea is now available for licensing to manufacturers interested in the new product development, especially in the computer accessories industry.

“Giwa hopes to have the Moussy in full production and available to the public in the very near future,” a press statement from the US firm made available to Champion Infotel said.

The company also noted that over the years, computers have evolved very rapidly, but the computer mouse has evolved far slower and has been left behind.

But with this breakthrough invention called Moussy is bent on bridging that gap with an introduction of entirely new generation of computer mouse.

“The Moussy resolves inconveniences encountered when performing basic computer tasks such as scrolling, navigation and dragging,”Invent-Tech informed.

The company equally said that Moussy improves upon these functions with advanced features that expedite tasks which avid computer users do every day.

“Customisable options and unique effects enable users to tailor the mouse to their specific needs and make its use more fun,” the company stated, adding that with unprecedented ease of use and modern improvements, the Moussy enhances the concept of the ordinary computer mouse or mouse-pad.

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology is an autonomous public institution with the general function of providing liberal higher education and encouragement to the rapid advancement of learning throughout Nigeria.

The university runs three academic programmes: pre-degree science programme, undergraduate programmes and post-graduate programmes. The university is jointly owned by two states in Nigeria, namely Oyo and Osun with student population of about 20,000.
