Remmy Nweke

Leading electronic mail portal, MSN/hotmail, has named a Lagos-based Seed Media Limited, as its online sales representative in West Africa.
Corporate Communications Officer at SML, Ms Marian Oliomogbe, said the appointment became imperative with the increasing demands by Nigerian businesses to showcase their products and services on the international market.
She quoted the Director MSN/Hotmail for Africa, Mr. Adrian Hewlett, saying, “The Nigerian market is a very vital market in the world and increasingly there have been demands by local firms to advertise on our platform."
Now, through SML, he said, Nigerian companies now have the opportunity to increase their brand share globally by displaying their products and services on the platform.
Pointing out that MSN network of Internet services attracts more than 350 million unique users worldwide every month, which is available in 39 markets and 18 languages.
MSN, he further said, is the world’s largest online communication provider in delivering web services to target consumers and online advertising solutions to marketing clients.
"As a leading web portal, MSN attracts both a large mainstream audience and several targeted niche audiences in Africa. These give it the superior edge that will provide Nigerian brands with the required local and international visibility and market penetration," Mr. Hewlett said.
Chief Executive, Seed Media Limited, Mr. Dominic Essien, informed that in Nigeria, hotmail is among the top three portals with an average of 300,000 unique users every month.
"MSN/hotmail is the only web service in the world that provides advertising based on targeting such as age or sex. In Nigeria, a total of over 5 million impressions are created," he said.
