As the cheering news of the return of abducted the Editor, FirstNews, Mr Segun Olatunji hits newsroom, the trio of the International Press Institute (IPI), the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) have adduced reasons why Nigerians must protect free press and guide democracy against military misconducts, reports ITREALMS.
Sequel to the release of Segun Olatunji Wednesday, the trio had a joint press statement accusing the military of usurping the role of the media in a democratic era and violation of fundamental human rights of detention above 48 hours without any court warrant.
