My deal with Emeka Ojukwu - Buhari

@ITRealms:
It has been revealed that every agitation for secession of the elsewhile Baifra was finally sealed and buried over five years ago by its leader, General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, retired, reports ITRealms.

According to President Muhammadu Buhari in a state broadcast to Nigerians on Monday, this deal came about in 2003 when he hosted the former Baifra lord turned politician and leader of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) who was on official visit to his home in Daura in Katsina State.

As said by Buhari, in 2003 after he joined partisan politics, the late Chief Emeka Ojukwu came and stayed as his guest at his hometown Daura.

He disclosed that over two days both men who were former army officers, discussed in great depth till late into the night and analyzed the problems of Nigeria, where they had a deal.

"We both came to the conclusion that the country must remain one and united" he declared.

ITRealms gathered from political observers that the infusion of this in a supposed state broadcast after returning to Nigeria following a 104 days in the United Kingdom douse the seeming tension arising from secession calls by the Indeginous People of Baifra (IPOB).

This invariably triggered avalanche of regional calls for restructuring of the Nigerian entity.

Buhari noted that in the course of staying in the United Kingdom, he kept abreast with events at home.

While commending Nigerians for robust and lively discussing their affairs, Buhari said he was distressed to notice that some of the comments, especially in the social media have crossed national red lines by daring to question the collective existence as a nation.

He lamented that this is a step too far.

Nigeria's unity, Buhari insisted, is settled and not negotiable.

"We shall not allow irresponsible elements to start trouble and when things get bad they run away and saddle others with the responsibility of bringing back order, if necessary with their blood."

Buhari stressed that every Nigerian has the right to live and pursue his business anywhere in Nigeria without let or hindrance.

Cautioning that the National Assembly and the National Council of State are the legitimate and appropriate bodies for national discourse.

The national consensus, he maintained, is that, "it is better to live together than to live apart."
