Telekom now boosts of 74,000 customers on IPTv

The German telco, Deutsche Telekom now has over 74,000 new customers for its Internet Protocol television (IPTV) platform entertainment in the first quarter of 2015, reports ITRealms.

IPTV, ITRealms reports, is a system through which television services are delivered using the Internet protocol suite over a packet-switched networks. 

Reports by Broadband TV News the growth of Telekom customers has been slower than in a year ago (2014) in which entertain attracted 78,000 new customers. 

The offering now has a total of 2.52 million customers as against March 31, 2014: 2.26 million customers.

Broadband TV News also noted that for Telekom’s fibre-optic internet service which comprises Very-high-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) and Fibre To The Home (FTTH) Telekom gained 463,000 new customers; twice over as many as in Q1 2014.

Telekom now has a total of 12.44 million broadband customers of which 2.01 million are connected to a fibre-optic line.
