Etisalat roams on Moov to six West African countries

Etisalat Nigeria may have joined the fray of ‘one-network’ among the Nigerian mobilea operators in shore-up the Average Revenue Per User (APRU) by roaming to six other West African countries with what the network described as ‘Easy Pass’ services.

Easy Pass, according to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Wael Ammar, allows Nigerian subscribers on the network to roam in six countries within the West African region where the Moov network is available.

It would also enable them to make and receive calls, send and receive Short Messaging Service (SMS) at a uniform discounted rate irrespective of the visited country.

“The easy pass service would in addition avail subscribers the lowest call rates to call loved ones back in Nigeria at N40 per minute,” he said.

Currently, he said, Easy Pass is accessible in six countries including Benin Republic, Togo, Niger, Gabon, Central African Republic, and Cote D’ivoire; it avails both prepaid and post paid subscribers on the Etisalat Network the benefits that comes with the offer without discrimination.

“At Etisalat, we are constantly introducing services with the purpose of making it easy for our customers to stay connected to their business associates, and loved ones wherever they are, at a very affordable cost. Easy Pass is available by default. Our prepaid and postpaid subscribers simply need to switch on their devices upon arrival at any of the countries participating in the easy pass service and select the Moov network,” he said.

Ammar enlightened that prepaid subscribers who intend to use their Etisalat numbers while in any of the six West African countries that have Moov network could easily recharge while roaming by using their normal Etisalat recharge cards or request their family and friends to recharge their lines from Nigeria using the unique “recharge others” service or balance transfer.

“Postpaid subscribers will need to visit any of Etisalat Experience Centres to enable the roaming service if it is not already enabled,” Ammar said.

Etisalat Nigeria previously introduced prepaid roaming services in nine popular countries spanning Benin Republic, Cameroun, Egypt, South Africa, India, the United States of America, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.
