ExpertEdge, NetApp, others back InTech Expo’09

Nigeria’s leading software brand, ExpertEdge Software & Systems, and leading enterprise storage and archiving software solutions provider, NetApp, as well as Cosmos PC from the Coscharis Technologies’ stables, have concluded plans to showcase products at the forthcoming 2009 edition of Insurance Technology expo, reports CHARLES OKOH.

The two-day expo and conferences which commences tomorrow, Thursday at Golden Gate Ikoyi-Lagos, would also witness RiskVision Systems among others on queue to exhibit Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions at the event. Chief executive officer, Private Media Mart Limited, Mr. Ejiofor Agada, disclosed this in Lagos, saying that the event is aimed at exploring ICT tools for the enhancement of business transactions and development in the Insurance sector.

“Information technology is the most significant development in the world today, thus it should be adopted in the insurance sector to increase efficiency, flexibility, reduce cost and better manage risks,” Agada declared.

According to him, InTech expo ‘09 comes with the theme ‘E- Insurance: issues and expectations in a growing economy,’ and would showcase, examine and review the available technologies suitable for the insurance sector and its inherent advantages with a view to redefining the modern insurance sector.

“InTech is a platform for the technology service providers and insurance sector players to interact in order to bring about enhancement in the Nigeria insurance sector which till now has been characterized with poor traditional method for business transaction since its post consolidation era,” he said.

Some of the activities lined up for the two-day event includes a conference and presentation session, panel discussions of industry issues, and a mini-exhibition for the first day while the second day will climax with an award for the best technology driven insurance company in Nigeria,” the PMM boss said.

Mr. Agada explained that InTech’09 would further mark the first time in the history of this country that an insurer would be presented with a Technology Advancement and Recognition award.
