UNICAL students commend Globacom

Students of University of Calabar have commended the Second National Operator (SNO) Globacom on its Campus Storm Reloaded show.

President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) at UNICAL, Comrade Okoi Ettah, said that the large turn out of students at the event in spite of the heavy downpour was “an eloquent testimony to the fact that the Glo Campus Storm is the biggest and best show ever held on this campus.”

“On behalf of the entire students of this great institution, I want to sincerely thank the management of Globacom for bringing this show to our school. That the rain has not been able to prevent our students from trooping out en mass to watch this show goes to confirm that we appreciate your efforts and I want to say without any fear of contradiction that this is the most entertaining, the biggest and the best show in this school in recent time,” he said.

Ettah also assured the telco of the SUG support, declaring “we’re proud that this epoch making event is taking place during our tenure.”

In his remarks, the Aba Regional Manager of Globacom, Mr. Chinedu Orji, said that he was particularly happy as an alumnus of the university to be part of the event on the campus.

Mr. Orji explained that the Glo Campus Storm was a way of appreciating the students in particular and the university community in general for abiding faith in Globacom, stressing that the telco was committed to delighting its numerous subscribers.

Commenting after winning the singing competition, which attracted a prize of a flat screen colour television, Emmanuel Peterside of the Department of Geology, said “Glo has made me fulfilled and I will forever be grateful”.

On hand at the show to entertain the teeming crowd were the best hand in the entertainment industry such as DJ Jimmy Jatt, Ekwe the Original Stereo Man and the rave of the moment, Face the “Kolomental” master.
