Chambas to address NACOSS workshop

Executive Secretary, Economic Community for West African States (ECOWAS), Dr. Ibn Mohammed Chambas, would give the key note address at the first North Central Zonal workshop being organized by the National Association of Computer Science Students (NACOSS) in Ilorin, Kwara State.

National President, NACOSS, Mr. Olusegun Olutayo, disclosed this to Champion Infotel, said the title of the two-day workshop is Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for National Economic Empowerment Development (ICT4NEED).

Dr. Chambas, he said, would dwell on the ‘Building Intellectual Capacity for Sustainable Development in the new order economy: Challenges and prospects’.

Whereas the venue for the two-day event has been slated to hold at the University of Ilorin permanent site between Wednesday 24 through Thursday 25, August, this year.

He also said that already NACOSS is enjoying the support of the industry stakeholders led by the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and includes the Nigeria Online Limited (NIGOL), Microsoft Nigeria, Nigerian Ports
Authority as well as the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

NACOSS, the President said equally has the support of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria (CAPDAN), InfoGraphics and ECOWAS.

Participants, he said, would be drawn from NACOSS membership nationwide, even as he promised the event to be rewarding.

This workshop, he explained is the second to be organized by NACOSS nation, having recently hosted the South-East zone at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), just as he assured the workshop would touch-ground at all the six geo-political zones of the country.
